Do I Know You?

Yesterday, I was taking care of my nephew and two neices. The t.v. was on and there was a show for kids that had puppets and stuff. They were teaching about how people decide what kind of person you are by how you act and what they've known you to be like in the past. People tend to know exactly what to expect from you by what they've always known about you.

So, how can you change the way people look at you? How can you change the things people expect you to do or not to do? What needs to happen?

Well, you need to examine yourself daily and decide whether you want to be the kind of person that people admire, trust and pattern their life after. OR you can be the kind of person to make people run away, leaving you by yourself in your own misery?

Are you really trying to get the approval of people? Is that what you really want? You can never make people happy. Especially not all of them at the same time. If you're old enough to read this, you've probably figured that out by now. Well, there's good news! Life's not about making everyone happy. Life's not about getting the approval of others. Our entire existance is all about getting the approval of the One who created us in the beginning. To a certain extent, it is important to be concerned about what other people think of you, but it should never be our driving force for living. If you are living the way Jesus Christ lived, you WILL be hated by people. You will be tempted to give up doing things His way when you discover someone hates you. We tend to be people pleasers because we are in a constant search for acceptance from anyone we can find. Just so we feel cared about and loved. It's easy to turn to human beings for acceptance because we can see and touch them and we don't have to have any faith. Faith is seeing the unseen and knowing it is there. We can't see God and we can't see Jesus. Not yet! ;) Also, faith without works is dead. So, there is a call to change. There is a call to believe. There is a call to life--life through Jesus Christ. Anything else is death. People will not save your soul and take you to heaven. Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven and He is coming back one day in the future to take those He knows home with Him to heaven. When He comes to you, at the end of time, what will He say to you? Could it be that He will say "Do I know you?"

Jesus has done SO much for you. So, what are you going to do for Him? What can you give Him in order to thank Him enough? After all, He is God. He already has everything. Or does He? Does He have YOU? Ask Him a question today...."Do I know you?" I think you already know the answer. Do something about it now before it's too late. It's a terrifying thing to not have God know who you are when He is the only one who can save you from Hell.

John 5:44 How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
