I went to a funeral yesterday. It was very different from anything I have ever seen before. Instead of burying their loved one at a cemetary like you see most often, they buried them in their back yard with a chain link fence around the chosen piece of property. This, at first, creeped me out. Then, the more I thought about the idea, the more precious it became to me. Think about it. As human beings, we get so attached to the physical part of one another; the flesh. Just knowing that the physical part of your loved one was still on "the home place" has to be such a tremendous comfort to the family. My eyes were truly opened to what other people choose to do in this country. It may freak you out, but personally, I think it's beautiful and incredibly personal. Our souls go to be with Satan or God and our bodies stay where they were before we died......near and dear to our family.
