I went to a funeral today. It was for someone in my husband's family whom I've never taken the time to know. Her name is Edna. What I always noticed about this person is that she was always smiling. Today, I heard stories about how she was always laughing. Even laughing at herself when life just happened to her. I found myself being able to relate to her a great deal in this area because I laugh alot too. Really, there is nothing I enjoy more than to find something that makes me laugh. I enjoy making other people laugh as well. Especially children!
During the funeral, I found myself thinking about what my own funeral might be like. I have to just imagine this kind of thing because I won't be attending it. ;) Nearly all of my favorite songs were sung today at the funeral and I had a great time thinking about all of the songs I would love to have sung at mine as well as some other details. I have always known that I wanted to have the gospel preached at my funeral with an invitation to become a Christian. I can think of nothing more wonderful to happen on my funeral than to have someone decide they're going to meet me in Heaven someday! That would be quite a gift to me....and God!
You know, I was just thinking how strange it was to be talking about laughter and a funeral all in the same message here. But, really, it's not as strange as you might think. As a matter of fact, at the funeral of a child of God, there just should be laughter.....and dancing for joy.....and a great party! For the party isn't for us, it's for the one who gets to leave this nasty old earth and be held in the arms of Jesus!
Today was a great day!!

I hope that when they have my funeral, it will be an enjoyable experience because all the attendees like each other.
I promise both of you, if I am alive, I'll attend both of your funerals and I will laugh (lovingly of course). Especially if Tim is still alive.
Nice thoughts, Jennifer
Thank you! (I think) ;)
